Michelin Flat first tread from the sidewall nail puncture. Should I replace the tire?

New set of tires with a nail puncture in the first tread from the sidewall.Goodyear tire would not repair the tire(too close to the sidewall), but Discount Tire did repair the tire (purchased the tires from Discount). My 22 year old daughter travels 150+ miles from college to home on a reg. bases. Should I replace the tire?|||Change it for your safety and others. Side wall is thinner then top of tire.|||Generally, a puncture in the sidewall = new tyre.

Puncture in the tread = repair.

You could try an inner tube if in doubt from a specialist tyre outlet.|||I've driven a truck tire where I had a puncture through the side wall. I repaired it myself by punching the tire repair material through the hole and releasing it. I see it when I travel with it. I've hauled 1 1/2 ton loads on the truck. It hasn't let me down. I'm amazed because I didn't think I could repair a sidewall with a do it your self rig,
