I found the tires I want at discount tire. They offer for free a prorated replacement warranty based on the ammount of tread left or for just under 40 bucks they offer free replacement for 3 years as long as the tread left is within legal state limits. The question is do I buy the warranty or not???|||I say yes, get the warranty, but only if it includes a road hazard policy too, if not then skip the extended and purchase a road hazard policy instead. that way if you run over a nail in the road and your tire goes flat, you wont have to buy a new one as long as the tires are covered.|||i got it ones and is a big fraud cause when you need them they come up with dumb excuses and you still pay to get them fix...read the contract first!!! good luck|||Rip off. They say its not their faul and blame you.|||It depends on a few factors. First of all, some tires are more expensive to replace than others and some tires are more susceptible to damage than others.
If you are speaking of a "Road Hazard" warranty, I would recommend getting it on the following conditions: If you purchased a normal passenger tire from a 13-16 inch range, then I would pass on the warranty. But, if you purchased tires that are 17+ inches, then I would recommend one. Here's why: Because of their design, larger diameter 17" and + (low profile) tires are more susceptible to road hazards including rocks, nails, potholes and curb damage. Also, they are typically much more expensive to replace than a standard 13-16" tire. So, if the tire warranty will cover damage from those types of situations, it could end up saving you a lot of money if you should need it.
